The Rivals by Vi Keeland

The feud between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar.

Only neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before either of us was born.

Our grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my grandfather’s wedding day—when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.

The two men spent years fighting over Grace Copeland, who also happened to be their third business partner.  But in the end, neither man could steal half of her heart away from the other.

Eventually, they all went their separate ways. Our grandfathers married other women, and the two men became one of the biggest business rivals in history.

Our fathers continued the family tradition of feuding. And then Weston and I did, too.

For the most part, we kept as much distance as possible.

Until the day the woman who started the feud died—and unexpectedly left one of the most valuable hotels in the world to our grandfathers to share.

Now I’m stuck in a hotel with the man I was born to hate, trying to unravel the mess our families inherited.

As usual, it didn’t take long for us to be at each other’s throats.

Weston Lockwood was everything I hated: tall, smart, cocky, and too gorgeous for his own good.  We were fire and ice.

But that shouldn’t be an issue. Our families were used to being at war. There was just one minor problem, though. Every time Weston and I fought, we somehow wound up in bed.

The newest one from Vi Keeland is FIRE! This book had me from the very first page. This book y’all, I can’t even!

Weston Lockwood is everything I want in a man. Sexy, confident, a little arrogant. When it comes to book boyfriends, he’s up near the very top! And the way he talks?? SWOON! Sophia doesn’t stand an ice cubes chance in hell around this man. Who can blame her??

I loved the feud between the families. It makes their interest in each other forbidden. Um, HELL YEAH! From the moment Sophia ran into Weston on the airplane I knew he was going to be trouble. It made the plot so much more exciting. The lust between the two of them was off the charts. So was the chemistry. That’s important to me in a book. The two have to have some kind of connection. Not an issue with these two.

The story flowed so well. It was like the Big Bad Wolf meets Little Red Riding Hood. He was ready to huff and puff and blow her whole house down!

Would I recommend this book to a friend? Absolutely! I’ve been binging Vi Keeland’s books for weeks now. This is my all time favorite one! Right up there next to Bossman (which I highly recommend as well!!). This one gets 5/5 from me!

The Queen (A Wicked Trilogy #3.7) by Jennifer L Armentrout

The King must have his Queen….

Bestowed the forbidden Summer’s Kiss by the King of the Summer fae, Brighton Jussier is no longer just human. What she is, what she will become, no one knows for sure, but that isn’t her biggest concern at the moment. Now Caden, the King, refuses to let her go, even at the cost of his Court. When the doorway to the Otherworld is breached, both Brighton and Caden must do the unthinkable—not just to survive themselves, but also to save mankind from the evil that threatens the world.

Why does this series have to end? The Wicked series if one of my absolute favorites and when Jen said she was going to write Brighton’s story I was ELATED! Didn’t have to say goodbye to my favorite characters just yet.

This is is the third novella from this series. Make sure you have read The Prince and The King before picking this one up. It wouldn’t make much sense otherwise. Would make the most sense if you read The Wicked trilogy first before beginning the novellas. That way you get the entire story. Trust me, it’s totally worth it! The stories are more NA than YA, but either genre would enjoy!

I loved the characters so much in this story. It was super hard to say goodbye to all of them. Jen wraps the story up nicely and the plot is very well done. We get to find out more about Caden and our girl Brighton. Also, we get more of Tink! Who doesn’t love Tink?? My heart was so happy at the end of the book. Ugh, I want to start the whole series over so I can get back into this world.

“You are my sun. My strength. My redemption. My heart. My everything. My Queen. I will always love you.” – This quote made me cry! I love it so much!

Overall, I give this novella all the stars. They are very well deserved! Everything wraps up nicely and leaves you with a bit of a series hangover. I would LOVE to see more of this world! Hope ya’ll love it as much as I did!

The Four Horsemen Series

Stop what you are doing and pick up this book:

Pestilence is the first book in the four book series by Laura Thalassa. It is EXCELLENT. The main character, Sara, is a bad ass. She is what you want a female character to be. She doesn’t just stand by and let Pestilence walk all over her.

Our story begins with Sara drawing the short match. She is staying behind to try and kill Pestilence. This gives her friends a fighting chance to escape him and the plague he brings with him. Sara doesn’t know that Pestilence can not be killed. She is taken as his captive. “Only the living suffer.” Pestilence wants to make her suffer and suffer she does. Sara wants to prove that human kind is worth redemption.

This book was unputdownable. Pestilence and Sara are ENEMIES at the beginning of this story. If you are not ok with enemies to lovers, this book is not for you.
