Blurb:

I fell in love with him when I was thirteen years old.

He was older, mysterious, and unattainable. The guy I could never touch.

Then one night changed everything for us. But there was one huge problem.

He belonged to her.

Review:

WOW! That was the first word that came to mind when I finished this book. This is a story of River. When the book starts, River is a 13 year old foster child who is being adopted into a well off family. River is shy and very scared. Foster life for her was truly awful. Her new brother Oliver wants to coax her out and show her that she can be loved. Oliver has a best friend named Everett. Everett is 17 at the time the story begins. Everett knows about family heartbreak. He lost his mother, father, and grandmother all before the book begins. He has a good heart but is very lost after his grandfather passes. This is a book about growing up and loving someone you know you shouldn’t. I will say there is cheating in this book. Usually that is a hard pass for me. However, this book is done so well, that I didn’t even feel like Everett cheated… That must sound wrong… but, you will understand when you read the book. There is a small age difference here and I will say that nothing happens between the characters until they are of consenting age. Great book and I can’t wait to read the second book called The Truth About Tommorow.
